Queensland's beautiful national parks

January 18, 2019

Queenslanders are being encouraged to create, share and remember some of life’s best moments while visiting the state’s unique parks and forests.

To highlight the amazing opportunities our National Parks and forests have to offer, Minister for Environment Leeanne Enoch said the Government would, on Monday, launch a new digital advertising campaign titled Life’s Best Moments.

“Queensland is one of the most naturally diverse places in the world, home to five World Heritage Areas and over 1300 national parks, marine parks, state forests and other protected areas,” Ms Enoch said.

“This campaign will help inspire people to ‘Think Outside’ and get active by doing things like hiking, mountain biking, kayaking and snorkelling or simply taking in the great outdoors in Queensland’s parks and forests.

“With 485 camping areas to choose from, our parks and forests offer camping opportunities to suit everyone – from remote camp sites with very few facilities to camping areas fully equipped with toilets, showers and barbecue areas.

“This year is also the Year of Outback Tourism, and it is the perfect time to explore our parks and forests that are in Queensland’s unique outback.

“A new easy-to-use website will take the heavy lifting out of planning a camping trip and will include everything visitors need to know, need to take, and offer helpful tips to have the best possible camping experience.

“The website will also inspire families, friends and couples to explore the best locations within a couple of hours’ drive from key centres, and highlight what to do and see in some of Queensland’s parks and forests.”

Ms Enoch said to celebrate the campaign launch, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) would be offering great prizes through its social media pages over the next four months, including the chance to win $100 camping gift cards.

“Visitors will be encouraged to share their memories and best moments with #LifesBestMoments on the Queensland National Parks Facebook (external site) and Instagram (external site) channels,” Ms Enoch said.

Life’s Best Moments campaign will begin on Monday. More information is available: https://lifesbestmoments.des.qld.gov.au.
